Getting ready for Easter!

Easter 2011

I bought Reed an Easter book last year titled, An Easter Gift for Me.  It is a really cute book that Reed has fallen in love with. So much that he reads it all the time! Here is a small taste of the book.

 Jesus came to Earth as a baby. When he grew up, he thought people about God. "But some of the people did not understand the way Jesus fit into God's special plan." He died on a cross, and that was sad. But he came alive again and lives in heaven today!

I love how he knows the real meaning of Easter and not just the Easter bunny. Now don't get me wrong, he loves the Easter bunny too. This post is actually about the cute things the Easter bunny does at our house!

Our Easter routine: The night before we read his Easter book, this year now he will read the book to me or at least read how he sees it!  Then we talk about the Easter bunny, now that we have a big enough house I have some fun cute ideas planned for the Easter bunny. 

The day before Easter we are going to make lots of Easter cookies and treats!

Then that night  I will have to make sure Reed leaves a carrot out! The Easter Bunny may be hungry! 

On Reeds night stand the Easter bunny will leave his first egg and note, Reed will then follow the bunny prints (flour on the floor that looks like footprints) leading Reed to the kitchen table.

Then

The Easter bunny will be leaving a small edible arrangement * (More info on edible arrangement at bottom of post.) (a mini version with strawberries, grapes, cantaloupe, Peeps and the chocolate marshmallow eggs)  an empty Easter basket and another note.

Now time to fill the basket!

Let the hunting begin. . .  Eggs, Peeps, carrots, a couple small toys, a little chocolate. . . not to mention the piles of  bunny poop (crunch a bunch) he will find. Yucky. Imagine the look on his face when mommy eats it! lol

At the very end Reed will find a new Buzz Lightyear (he has been begging and begging for one) with another note.

Time for Reed to help his little brother look for some eggs 

Gotta hide some eggs outside.

Then that evening a Wonderful Easter dinner!
